Job Description: Electroninks is looking to hire an innovative and hard-working Director of Facilities Management for our fast-growing company. The Director of Facilities Management plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the activities of the facility, construction, and provides services, repair and maintenance necessary to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility and its laboratories. Director will serve as the primary point of contact for executives, employees, renovations, security, and other facilities-related functions. This position will also coordinate activities associated with maintenance and relocation/repair of equipment when necessary. The Director will also supervise Assistant Lab Manager, to achieve established objectives in collaboration with executives and employees to ensure facilities objectives are met in a timely, efficient and responsive manner.


The Director for Facilities provides leadership to and oversees all functions within the facility and laboratories and its related infrastructure and equipment. Below are the four main duties of the Director of Facilities Management:

 

1. Facilities and Infrastructure Management

Director of Facilities Management will oversee and manage effective maintenance of equipment and all aspects of facilities management. This includes, but is not limited to building maintenance, security, and all third-party service contracts, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and hazardous materials. Director will also conduct regular building inspections for safety, cleaning standards and procedure compliance, including coordinating inspections by insurance companies, fire and police departments. Director must create and maintain effective scheduled assignments to efficiently accomplish work responsibilities and ensure all follow – through is completed.

Director must be able to forecast issues, and create solutions before issues occurs, limiting downtown in the facility. This includes collaborating with team members and executives to coordinate short-term and long-range facility improvement plans.


2. Laboratory Management

Director of Facilities Management must maintain multiple laboratories and execute exceptional wet laboratory techniques and experience. Director must ensure laboratories are running efficiently and are compliant with all OSHA/government safety standards. Director must maintain existing lab equipment; replace and/or adjust when necessary. This includes monitoring equipment for preventive maintenance and calibration of instruments. Director will be responsible for SOP’s, therefore must have effective experience creating and streamlining current and new SOP’s. Director will also over see chemicals and hazardous waste materials, ensuring safety and compliance for eliminating environmental hazards.

Director will provide leadership, development, and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives in the laboratory. Director must also work closely with research and development team to ensure all needs are met in a timely matter. It is essential that the Director of Facility ensure Laboratories are running smoothly, therefore limiting production interruptions.


3. Compliance

Director of Facilities Management must ensure that company is compliant with all OSHA, City, State, and Federal Government safety standards. This includes maintaining all required documentation, including creating emergency and safety procedures and policies. Director will oversee safety trainings for all employees, and work with HR during new employees on-boarding process to provide safety training. Director will maintain all injury reports and documentation.

Director will participate with other team members and executives to develop and implement policies and procedures for the organization. Director must all ensure all SDS’s, chemical, and safety paperwork is available and posted per city, state, and federal government regulations. Director of Facilities Maintenance must ensure the safety of companies’ employees and guest at all times.


4. Administrative

Director of Facility Management will also perform administrative duties that include but are not limited to record keeping via hard copy and cloud based, scanning, and organizing all documentation as necessary. Director will be in charge of purchasing for the facility and lab, and will be in charge of certain vendor relations including coordinating bids, quotes, and contracts.

Director will oversee Assistant Lab Manager and ensure that duties are regulated accordingly. Director will also work with Director of Finance to create budget tracking system, and budget on a weekly basis, presenting results to leadership/executives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in chemicals and/or semiconductor industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, google suite, and cloud-based software
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects with efficiency, accuracy, and pro-activeness
  • Experience providing up-to-date information for Executives upon request
  • Must have excellent Negotiation Skills
