Description: Electroninks, Inc. has a couple of openings for Engineers within our Research and Development team. Primary responsibilities will be assisting with different coating methods and applications development. This includes supporting our scientific team by preparing conductive ink samples, preparing film samples through various coating techniques and characterizing materials, maintaining laboratory equipment, organization, and inventory.
Job Duties:
- Handling of ink chemistry and samples including preparation and quality control
- Characterization of materials stability (including temperature, humidity, chemical, and
adhesion properties) - Implementing and following appropriate QA/QC protocols
- Sample preparation including coating and casting of thin films via spray coating, inkjet printing, bar coating, blade coating, etc.
- Previous experience with spray coating, inkjet printing or other coating methods is highly desirable
- Maintenance of equipment including spray coater/inkjet printer/screen printer
- Assisting in developing new test methods and scale up operations
- Sample prep for characterization and activities with external companies
- Handling of nanomaterials including silver, copper, and other metallic nanoparticle samples
- Assist with customer demoing and direct customer contact on a daily/weekly basis
- Responsible for safe chemical handling, lab up-keep, good house-keeping, and general Apps Lab practices
Essential requirements:
- Minimum requirements include an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, material science, biology, biochemistry and 2+ years working in an industrial analytical laboratory setting, or 5+ experience years in absence of degree.
- Experience with wet-chemistry methods and practice, wet-bench, solvents, chemical reactions, surface chemistry and materials processing
- Ability to work with chemicals in a safe, organized, and neat manner, with attention for details
- Ability to work in a highly motivated fast-paced team to develop a range of synthesis, characterization, and processing methods
- Ability to prepare documents, presentations, write standard operating procedures (SOPs), and produce technical reports
- Ability to work with teams, excellent written and verbal communication skills is absolutely critical
